When you surrender your life to Christ Jesus, a profound transformation occurs. Your body ceases to be merely yours; it becomes a sanctuary where the Holy Spirit resides. Yes, you heard it right—God Himself chooses to dwell within you, making your very existence holy and sacred. You are no longer the owner of your body; God is the owner!
In Corinthians 3:16, it unequivocally declares: "Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?" Let that sink in for a moment. The Creator of the universe, the One who formed you intricately in your mother's womb, has chosen to make His abode within you.
With this profound truth in mind, it's imperative to consider how we treat our bodies. Would you defile a sacred temple with impurities and desecrations? Of course not! Similarly, we should strive to keep our bodies pure and undefiled, free from the taint of worldly desires and lusts. God doesn’t want it polluted and fouled up by fleshly desires, lust, markings, tattoos, sexual immorality, perversion, and many other things you give yourself to.
God's love for you extends to every fiber of your being, and He desires nothing but the best for you. Your body is His dwelling place, and He longs to see it honored and respected. This means exercising discipline over our actions and decisions, aligning them with God's will and purpose.
So, before you make any choices regarding your body, take a moment to pause and reflect. Ask yourself: What does God desire for this temple today? How can I honor Him with my actions and choices?
Remember, you are not your own—you belong to a loving and sovereign God who cherishes you beyond measure. Embrace the sacredness of your body, for it is a dwelling place of the Creator. Let your every action and decision reflect the reverence and honor due to the temple of God.
