Publicly, both Republican and Democratic leaders clash fiercely, giving the impression of irreconcilable differences. However, behind the scenes, they meet, share meals and vacations, negotiate, and often advance hidden agendas that move them in the same direction. The stage may appear divided, but behind the curtain, the pieces often align in ways the public rarely sees. Leaders in both parties are being used as puppets in Satan’s hands, maneuvering a hidden script that subtly promotes control, deception, and the dark ambitions of the world leader the Bible calls the Antichrist.
It reminds me of an old stage trick. The magician waves one hand dramatically, drawing everyone’s eyes, while the real work is being done quietly with the other hand. That’s precisely how distraction works: it blinds us to what’s really occurring behind the curtain. This is one reason Jesus warned about this very danger when He said, “Take heed that no man deceive you” (Matthew 24:4). Sometimes, what seems like the main event is just a distraction from the truth.
And that’s what is occurring right now. While the headlines blare about the troubling government shutdown, which fills my heart with sorrow for those affected, something far more sinister is scheming behind the scenes—something the mainstream news media refuses to touch.
Just this past week, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom announced a plan to roll out a mandatory national digital ID by 2029. On a larger scale, the European Union is developing a unified digital identity system for its member nations. Saudi Arabia has also been expanding its digital ID for passports, banking, and even property purchases by foreigners. In the United States, the Trump administration has continued to press forward with the digital initiatives begun under Biden, including the development of a unified digital currency and identification system.
Most people are not aware of these matters. And that’s the point. We are often kept distracted by problems that are manufactured in plain sight, while more profound shifts are taking place behind the scenes. Leaders create crises, then step forward as the “answer” to those same crises, drawing us further into their control.
The Bible has already told us where this path leads. Revelation 13:16-17 warns of a day soon coming: “And he [the Antichrist] causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.”
For generations, people scoffed at the idea of a one-world system and dismissed the “mark of the beast” as something far-fetched. Many others mocked the Bible terminology as little more than religious symbolism. They laughed and said, How could such a thing ever happen? Yet what once seemed impossible is now rising to the forefront right before our very eyes.
What was once unthinkable is no longer just on the horizon—it’s here. Systems that can monitor, restrict, and control buying and selling are already being tested, and the shift from preparation to implementation is happening at a rapid pace.
But here’s the good news: God has not left us without hope. These warnings are not meant to paralyze us with fear but to awaken us to the truth that His Word has always been trustworthy. While the world builds systems of control, Christ offers true freedom. While leaders use smoke and mirrors to distract, the light of Scripture cuts through the façade and reveals what is real.
The Holy Bible assures that Jesus Christ will soon return for His church. The rapture is not a fairy tale; it is the blessed hope of every follower of Jesus Christ. “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord” (1 Thessalonians 4:16–17).
Today is the day to place your trust in Christ Jesus—not in governments that are building systems of digital control, but in the Savior who died and rose again to set you free. Christ Jesus alone can forgive your sins, give you eternal life, and rescue you from the wrath to come.
So don’t let your heart be troubled. Stay awake. Discern the times. And put your hope, not in shifting governments, but in the One who promised, “Lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world” (Matthew 28:20).
