Today, I want to encourage you to take a moment to recheck and see if you are spending adequate time alone with God and His Holy Bible. More often than not, the root of our restlessness is that our spirit is hungering for God. Because we can't physically see our spirit, we often overlook this essential part of ourselves that needs to be nourished and immersed in God's Word. The Lord promises perfect peace to those who keep their minds on Him.
Picture a garden that isn't watered regularly. Despite the best soil, the finest seeds, and the perfect location, without water, the plants wither and fail to thrive. Our spirits are much the same. They need the living water of God's presence and His Word to flourish. When we neglect to spend time in prayer or meditation on Scripture, our spirits become parched, and we struggle to find peace.
Think about your daily routine. How much of it is dedicated to nurturing your relationship with God? It's easy to get swept up in our tasks and responsibilities that we neglect the one thing that can truly bring us peace. Setting aside intentional time to talk with God and ponder on passages from His Bible will transform our lives. While many of us can't devote hours each day to studying Scripture, we can carve out thirty minutes or an hour for quiet reflection, prayer, and Bible reading. By starting our day in communion with God and pondering and meditating on His Word throughout the day, we can experience a profound difference in our daily lives.
The Bible is rich with promises of peace and reminders of God's constant presence. Isaiah 26:3 tells us, "Thou [GOD] wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee." When we meditate on Scripture and fix our thoughts on God, we open our hearts to His peace to dwell in our hearts. By centering our minds on the Lord—His character, promises, and joy—we shift our focus from the worries and anxieties of this temporary life to the eternal peace He is..
✔️Philippians 4:6-7 says: "Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."
✔️Jesus Christ promises in John 14:27: "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."
✔️Colossians 3:15: "And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful."
✔️Romans 15:13: "Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost."
✔️Psalm 119:165: "Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them."
✔️Jesus said in Matthew 11:28-30: "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."
Amid our daily lives, we must prioritize our spiritual well-being as diligently as we do our physical health. Just as we wouldn't neglect our bodies, we shouldn't overlook the needs of our spirit. God created us for communion with Him, and it is through this relationship that we find true peace. When we steadfastly focus on God, His peace shields our hearts and minds, empowering us to face life's challenges with grace and confidence.
So, here's a gentle reminder: refocus your thoughts and meditations on the Lord Jesus and the words of His Holy Bible. Let His peace envelop you, fill your heart, and guide your steps. Embrace God's promise of perfect peace and let it renew your life, bringing you closer to an awareness of God and His peace.
