I met a man today who lives on the streets and carries the heavy weight of alcoholism. What struck me most wasn’t his struggle—it was his tenderness. He wanted to talk. He wanted to be heard. And he wanted to understand more about God.
Later, after I had moved on to another area, he found me again. Not to ask for money—but to ask for help, for direction, for hope. We sat down on the pavement. We discussed some points God makes in the Holy Bible and practical steps forward, and I shared information that could help him take the next step.
Here’s what I know to be true: people are not their worst chapter. Every person is an asset, not a liability. And when someone is searching—really searching—it’s a wonderful place.
