Ten years ago today (October 8th), I gloriously was tricked by God to walk a path with Him that I could never have anticipated. It all began with a mission trip to Mexico, where I visited an orphanage in Guadalajara. Looking back, I can see that God knew I needed more help and purpose in my life than I ever imagined. The Lord, in His infinite wisdom, devised a clever way to bring me to the hundreds, if not thousands, of incredible individuals who would become my counselors—children, teachers, missionaries, and survivors of deep pain.
Since 2013, God has been unfolding countless opportunities for me to serve children, youth, and young adults around the world. I have been privileged to work with children's homes, impoverished communities, and even in the most challenging environments like garbage dumps and brothels. Additionally, I have had the honor of speaking at schools across various nations, addressing issues like sexual exploitation, abuse, and the well-being of children. It has been an honor to sit down one-on-one with politicians in several countries and advocate for children's rights, along with publishing many books.
Yet, the most profound labor that God has entrusted me with is to speak before churches and public squares about the Lord Jesus Christ and the abundant grace He gives to outcasts. We are all outcasts whom God is calling to salvation.
Through these years of speaking publicly and meeting one-on-one with thousands of youngsters, God has used this ministry to help them as well as me. For I am needy and in need of His love and care. I used to think God gave ministry to someone to minister to others. I was wrong. I now understand God places people in ministry to minister to that individual. Once, someone said to me, “Lawrence, your ministry is great. These children really need you.” I cringed within my spirit and softly replied, “Yes, these children need me, but I need these children much more.”
This is the extraordinary miracle of service in Christ: it redirects our focus away from ourselves and towards others. I am excited to witness how the Lord shall continue to heal me, bless and uplift many others, and ultimately glorify Jesus Christ through the rest of my life’s journey.
As we mark a decade of this wonderful mission, I want to extend my deepest gratitude to my dedicated supporters. Your unwavering commitment, whether through fervent prayers, generous financial contributions, heartfelt letters, or encouraging phone calls, has been an unwavering source of strength and support throughout my ministry. Your belief in my shared mission to serve needy youngsters is a profound blessing. Your collective efforts have made all of this possible, and I'm truly thankful to have you as dear friends.
LET’S PRAISE GOD FOR TEN YEARS! HALLELUJAH!
Praise be to the Lord Jesus Christ,
Lawrence Bowman
