Greetings from El Salvador! The past months have been filled with ministry opportunities, travel, and moments that remind me of God’s goodness and faithfulness. This October also marked my 12th year in missionary ministry, and I am deeply grateful to God for sustaining me all these years. And I can’t say it enough—thank you! Your prayers and support have carried me through more than I can express.
Each week, the Lord continues opening doors for ministry on the streets—opportunities to share food, prayer, and the hope of the gospel with those in need. On my birthday, September 2nd, I was able to celebrate in a special way. A friend and I brought a box of cupcakes to the center of town and spent the afternoon sharing them with people living in difficult situations. The cupcakes became a simple illustration of the sweetness of Jesus’ gift of salvation, sparking many meaningful conversations. One lively group even surprised us by singing Happy Birthday, filling the moment with laughter and joy.
Since the publication of my Confessions: A Memoir of Hope for the Suffering in 2024, many people have reached out to share their stories and seek guidance on issues such as abuse, loneliness, and other forms of suffering. Through these conversations, a clear theme began to emerge. And earlier this year, the Lord impressed on my heart to begin writing some of the insights and encouragements He has taught me over the years. He graciously gave me the words for a new book offering practical insight into the deep and difficult kinds of suffering we all may face. We are prayerfully preparing for publication in early 2026. I pray that it will serve as a source of help and healing for individuals, families, and ministries alike.
Thank you for partnering with this ministry through your prayers and generosity. Though I live in El Salvador, I am always just a message away and would be honored to talk or pray with you at any time. If I can ever be of help, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Together, we are witnessing God’s hand at work in ways only He can accomplish. May the Lamb who was slain receive the rewards of His suffering. Let’s you and I continue to preach Christ and invest our lives in others.
With gratitude,
Lawrence Bowman
