In this poem, I desire to express my experience with suicide and how it effected my life. My younger brother, Travis, took his life nine years ago this month; the pain and grief that followed were almost unbearable. But through Christ’s strength, I found the ability to carry on and use my experience to help others who may be struggling with suicidal thoughts.

Don't End Just Yet
The pain that leads to thoughts of suicide,
Can feel like an endless, all-consuming tide.
It's hard to see a way out of the dark,
When life's struggles feel like a heavy mark.
But know that there are people who care,
And they'll be there to support and share.
Your burden, heavy, though it may seem,
Is not one that you must bear alone, like a dream.
The depth of despair can be suffocating,
But it's important to know, you're worth saving.
