Consider health issues, for example. Many people face sudden health problems and question why God hasn't prevented them. But let's be honest—how many years have we spent neglecting our health? We consume unhealthy foods, lead sedentary lifestyles, and adopt harmful habits that all contribute to these issues. In His wisdom, God provides countless opportunities and warnings to take better care of ourselves, yet we often ignore them. When the consequences finally catch up, we're quick to ask God for a miracle without acknowledging our role in creating the problem.
The same applies to our relationships, whether with family, friends, or colleagues. If we look closely, many relational issues arise from repeated poor choices: harboring grudges, refusing to communicate effectively, or failing to show love and respect. Over time, these small wrong decisions accumulate, leading to significant conflicts. Yet again, in times of trouble, we implore God to fix everything without considering how our actions have contributed to the situation.
One of the most prevalent struggles today is anxiety. In a world that constantly pulls us in different directions, it's easy to become overwhelmed. But anxiety often stems from a lack of trust and rest in God. When we neglect our spiritual health—refusing to read and meditate on the Bible, seek His counsel, or obey His commands—we distance ourselves from the peace He offers. As a result, our minds become battlegrounds of worry and doubt. We cry out to God for relief, but the root cause lies in our reluctance to cultivate a relationship with Him, obey Him in all the little matters, and trust His sovereignty.
When faced with problems, our instinct is to beg God for immediate help. While seeking His assistance is natural, it's also crucial to seek His guidance. Instead of repeatedly crying out for help, we should pause and ask, "God, what do You want me to do?" This shift in prayer focuses on aligning our actions with His will. By immersing ourselves in His Word, meditating on His teachings, and listening in prayer, we open ourselves to His direction. God is faithful and will reveal areas in our lives that need change if we earnestly seek His heart.
Today, I encourage you to reflect on your decisions that have led to your current challenges. Understand that God is not to blame for our problems; rather, He has been guiding us all along, even when we've ignored His warnings. Take responsibility for your actions and make a conscious effort to change the habits and behaviors that contribute to your struggles. Seek God's wisdom and direction, and trust He will provide the strength and guidance you need.
In doing so, you'll find that many of your problems begin to resolve, and you'll grow closer to God, experiencing the peace and fulfillment that come from living in accordance with His will. Remember, there is always time to turn things around. Start today by seeking God's heart and making the changes He reveals to you. You'll be amazed at the transformation that follows.
