We’ve got many false converts in the name of Jesus Christ who profess salvation but lack the genuine transformation that comes in knowing Jesus. Saying a “sinner's prayer” does not save you. Believing upon the Lord Jesus Christ is what saves you. It’s a belief that the Bible says it's “in the heart (Romans 10:9-10), not within your mind. And if you desire to know if you have genuine salvation in Christ, the small book of 1 John (five chapters) is written to offer the evidence (proof) of authentic conversion. Within its page, it delineates 11 marks of a genuine follower of Christ. One of these proofs is the desire to be with God’s children (other Christians), the desire to congregate, fellowship and seek God with other Christians. If you need constant persuasion or incentives to go to church, then you’ve got a problem. A Christian has a heart to know and fellowship with other believers who together we can talk about the Bible, listen to preaching, sing about Jesus, and sharpen one another. A person whose heart is resistant to fellowship with other Christians has a problem, and this person ought to check to see if they truly are a believer and follower of Jesus Christ.
