Slander, the cruel poison of words
A weapon sharp as any sword
It tears apart, it brings us down
And leaves our name in tatters on the ground
It's whispered in shadows, behind closed doors
With every lie, another wound is born
It spreads like wildfire, consuming all in sight
And leaves behind a trail of ruin and blight
And not just in the shadows, but in the light
Slander can be spoken, in plain sight
Before an audience, with no shame or fears
And still it wounds, and leaves us in tears
The pain it causes, is just as real
The wounds just as deep, the hurt we feel
For words can stab, no matter the place
And leave us scarred, without a trace
It takes away our friends, our hope, our dreams
And leaves us stranded in a world of screams
It's hard to stand, when all around us falls
And the wounds we bear are the deepest of all
Slander is not just spoken with intent
But in idle chatter, with no consent
Gossip, hearsay, ill talk and more
All hurtful words that cut to the core
They may seem harmless, but in truth they're not
For they can wound, and leave a lasting mark
So let us be mindful, of the words we choose
And how they impact, those we may bruise
For slander is not just a weapon of malice
But can be wielded by those who act callous
And though the intent may not be the same
The harm they cause, can bring just as much pain
Again, let us be mindful, of the words we say
And how they impact, every single day
For slander has no place, in our hearts or minds
And only leaves destruction, and pain behind
But do not despair, for there is light
A chance to rise, and win the fight
For slander may wound, but it cannot kill
The heart that beats, with a determined will
So rise again, with strength and grace
And leave behind the tales, without a trace
For in the end, it's what we do
That defines us, and makes us true
So hold your head up high, and don't give in
For in the end, it's love that wins
And though the scars may never fade
They'll remind you, of the price that's paid
For in the darkness, there is always light
And in the end, everything will be alright.
