Yesterday, one follower made a comment that I truly agree with and appreciate: "If someone is living wickedly and in willful sin every day, it means nothing to show up to a church building on a Sunday to sing and wave. If you aren't obeying God and denying yourself Monday through Saturday, then what you do on a Sunday in front of other people means nothing to God." I wholeheartedly agree with this sentiment. Thank you for providing clarity on this matter.
Another follower requested that I provide scriptures to support my statement. I am grateful for this opportunity to share from the Word of God, because as Psalm 119:105 reminds us, "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path." The Holy Bible holds the power to transform our souls, as stated in Psalm 19:7, "The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple." Moreover, as emphasized in 2 Timothy 3:16, "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness." Therefore, let us turn to the Holy Bible to gain insight and guidance in understanding the principles of worship.
The term "worship" appears 108 times in the Holy Bible, making it a fascinating subject worthy of exploration for all believers. While a thorough explanation may be impractical for a blog, I wholeheartedly encourage everyone to delve into this study. However, here is a one verse summary of the points discovered in God’s Word:
WORSHIP HAS A CONNECTION TO SIGNING:
Psalm 66:4: All the earth shall worship thee, and shall sing unto thee; they shall sing to thy name. Selah.
WORSHIP HAS A CONNECTION TO SACRFICE:
2Kings 17:36 But the LORD, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt with great power and a stretched out arm, him shall ye fear, and him shall ye worship, and to him shall ye do sacrifice.
WORSHIP HAS A CONNECTION TO FEAR:
Psalm 96:9 O worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness: fear before him, all the earth.
WORSHIP HAS A CONNECTION TO SERVICE:
Matthew 4:10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
WORSHIP HAS A CONNECTION TO SPIRT AND TRUTH. YOU AREN’T WORSHIPPING IF YOU ARE NOT SUBMITTED TO THE FATHER’S SPIRIT AND HIS WORD:
John 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
WORSHIP HAS A CONNECTION TO HUMILITY AND NEGELECTING THE BODY:
Colossians 2:23 Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh.
WORSHIP HAS A CONNECTION TO PROSTATING BEFORE GOD:
Revelation 4:10 The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying,
WORSHIP HAS A CONNECTION TO OBEYING THE HOLY BIBLE:
Revelation 22:9 Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God.
